WOLFGANG FRISCH - WATERING THE LAND
After his debut „The Hundred“ in 2008, Wolfgang Frisch releases his follow-up producer album „Watering the Land“ on October the 14th, on the band`s own label Monoscope Productions.
Inspired by the likes of „Scott Walker“, „Jack Nitzsche“ or works by other leftfield songwriters from the 60ies/70ies of the last century, Wolfgang Frisch utilises the tonality of the Singer/Songwriter-genre to later break it up again. Wolfgang Frisch leaves the well acquainted paths of the Sofa Surfers production-procedure and decides to leave the naked song-structures to the performers for the moment, in order to subsequently add athmosphere, texture and sounddesign.
„Watering the Land“ is a well-balanced album, full of musical diversity and exciting sonic experiences.

„With this project, i wanted to create an atmosphere that conveys a
certain warmth, but still gives us a hint of an „emotional abyss“ from
behind. In order to keep this thin line between harmony and dissonance,
you have to be aware of the connotations that you offer. So in this
particular case, i wanted to make sure, that the digital ocurrences are
perceived as analog events!“
